This policy explains how cancellation and refund requests are handled for services purchased directly from Scholars Abroad.
Free initial counselling
The initial counselling offered on this website is free. Submitting an enquiry does not create a payment obligation.
Written terms before payment
Before collecting a Scholars Abroad service fee, we will identify the service scope, amount and applicable cancellation or refund conditions in a written proposal, engagement document, invoice or receipt. Those written terms form part of this policy and control the specific service purchased.
Refund eligibility
Refund eligibility depends on the written terms accepted for the service, the work already completed, costs already incurred and applicable consumer law. Where a refund is approved, documented work already performed or non-recoverable costs may be deducted when permitted by the agreed terms and law.
Third-party payments
University, application, examination, visa, embassy, insurance, banking, accommodation, travel and courier fees are controlled by the organisation receiving the payment. Scholars Abroad cannot promise or issue a refund of money retained by an independent third party. Applicants should read that organisation’s refund rules before paying.
Admission and visa outcomes
A rejected admission, scholarship, visa, licensing or registration decision does not automatically create a refund right unless the written terms for the purchased service expressly provide one or applicable law requires it. These decisions are made by independent institutions and authorities.
How to request cancellation or a refund
Email scholars@scholarsabroad.in with the applicant’s name, phone number, invoice or receipt details, payment date, service purchased and reason for the request. Attach relevant proof of payment. We will review the written agreement, work completed and third-party costs, then respond in writing. Approved refunds will be returned using a reasonable available payment method.
