01 · Start with the essentials
Semey Medical University is a medical university in Semey, Kazakhstan. Its published medicine records describe a six-year qualification, and its international admissions page sets out an English-language selection route. Before deciding, match the exact programme to your offer, obtain current charges and confirm clinical and internship arrangements.
The published award is Master of Medicine. “MBBS” is a common search term used by Indian applicants; it should not replace the actual degree title on your documents.
Separate tuition from housing, meals, travel, insurance and documentation. Check which study years and training stages a quotation actually covers.
Ask how the completed qualification leads to eligibility for medical registration in Kazakhstan, then review the applicable Indian rules separately.
For country-level comparisons, use our MBBS in Kazakhstan guide. This page focuses on Semey so that each university’s conditions remain distinct.
You can also use our Caspian International School of Medicine guide when comparing programme documents, current fee evidence and the questions to ask before accepting an offer.
02 · Understand the study route
The university’s public programme folder contains two Medicine documents. Both describe six years and 360 credits, but their codes and language entries must be kept separate.
The file’s Kazakh and Russian sections identify 6B10118. Its English table uses a different code, 6B10103. Ask Semey to confirm the correct code on your offer and curriculum.
This is a separate programme document. A multilingual listing does not confirm which language applies to your teaching group, examinations or clinical placements.
03 · Build a transparent budget

This document provides a planning reference. Ask for the final approved fee schedule and your programme-specific contract before relying on an amount or making a payment.Contract confirmation requiredThe note distinguishes foreign-student study years and lists internship separately. It does not establish a complete six-year package for a new Indian applicant.

04 · Prepare your application
The official international-admissions page describes competitive selection through an English interview covering Biology, Chemistry and language ability. It also requests a NEET certificate from Indian applicants.
Dates and NEET cutoffs: the general page lists an August application/enrolment window without a specific intake year and undated numerical NEET thresholds. Do not treat these as a currently open intake or this year’s Indian qualifying marks.
The university checklist also includes photographs, medical and vaccination records. Request the current checklist and confirm what is needed before departure versus after arrival.
Plan the sequence using our admission documents and timeline guide.
05 · Look beyond the admission letter
Semey publishes a separate internship page with 2026–27 requirements for international students. That does not, by itself, show how internship is incorporated into a new applicant’s specific six-year qualification.
Check the current NMC FMGL regulations against the actual programme and your individual circumstances. Admission and graduation do not automatically establish eligibility to practise in India.
Read our NMC/FMGL guide and university evidence checklist alongside the official rules.
06 · Plan the everyday details
The university’s student-house directory includes accommodation for foreign students. Its general allocation notice includes older dates, so request current availability, room conditions and charges rather than assuming a place is guaranteed.
Ask for the actual address, room sharing, heating, security, meals, internet and deposit terms. Confirm the journey to teaching and clinical sites.
Keep university, accommodation and emergency contacts. Ask about orientation, local-language support and how parents can reach the student support team.
Request a timetable and speak to students following the same programme. Compare their experience with the written curriculum and placement plan.
07 · Questions families ask
The university’s published Medicine documents describe six years and 360 credits, with Master of Medicine as the award. Confirm the exact programme code, clinical timetable and internship arrangement for your intake; a six-year label alone does not establish compliance with Indian registration rules.
The university’s 2026–27 explanatory calculation note shows KZT 2,040,000 per academic year for foreign students in years 1–3 and KZT 1,700,000 for years 4–5, with internship listed separately. These are planning references from that note, not a final offer or complete six-year package. Obtain your programme-specific contract and full fee schedule.
The Medicine file labelled 6B10118 lists English, while the separate integrated Medicine record lists Kazakh, Russian and English. Confirm the route on your offer and the language of clinical teaching, examinations and patient contact throughout the course.
Do not assume the undated numerical cutoff on the general admissions page is valid for your admission year. Check the applicable current NEET requirements and obtain Semey’s written selection criteria for your intake.
No. Admission, a degree, a directory listing or a six-year duration does not guarantee Indian registration. Eligibility depends on the applicable NMC regulations and the student’s complete course, internship, training and awarding-country licence eligibility.
Yes. Our Raipur counselling team can help students and parents compare programme documents, itemise the budget and organise questions for the university. Admission and licensing decisions remain with the responsible authorities.
